Maritime safety and security
Having worked for the International Maritime Organization (www.imo.org), an United Nations Specialized Agency for twenty-two years in various positions and capacities (LinkedIn Profile) and most recently as the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Maritime Security and Counter-Piracy Programmes, the Managing Director of this company is still consulting the Organization in an advisory capacity on matters relating to Maritime Safety and Security, in particular Counter-Piracy capacity building in Somalia and the wider East African region as well as to some extend the West Africa and South East Asia regions.
The company is a staunch supporter of the UN system and it’s Managing Director, as one of the fathers of Safety of Life at Sea Convention (SOLAS) Chapter XI-2 on Measures to enhance maritime security and the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, has directed the development and adoption of the corresponding maritime security measures and counter-piracy activities at IMO.
Being open-minded, friendly and resourceful, the company’s Managing Director has a sound, positive and optimistic outlook on all things in life. His more than 10 years experience in top level management at IMO, partly also as a member of the Organization’s Senior Management Committee, enables him to motivate others and, coupled with the ability to communicate comfortably at all levels, ensures an excellent working environment for all members of the team to perform at their bests.
